About Us

Meet Your Hosts

We are Brandi & Kent —

Brandi grew up in a small town near Madison, Wisconsin, and Kent grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. Kent originally pursued film school, graduating in Long Beach, California. Brandi is a military veteran, who landed in Eugene, Oregon after spending four years in Hawaii, serving in the US Navy. We both eventually switched gears, deciding on careers serving others, and became Registered Nurses. We met while working on an Orthopedic unit in Springfield, Oregon and quickly discovered a shared love for rock climbing, the outdoors, art, and wellness.

Spending the last three years living out of our van, traveling the West, while working as travel nurses, we decided to plant roots in Southwest Colorado. With proximity to many stunning landscapes, including our favorite climbing destination, Indian Creek, Utah — where we’ve made some of our favorite memories and even got engaged, we knew Bright Star would be a special place to call home and to share with others bitten by the adventure bug. Besides being stewards of this sacred land, we both continue to serve our community by working as RN's at our local hospital, and instructing future nurses through the local Community College.

At Bright Star, we aim to cultivate a space for peace, celebration, health, creativity, and connection. In 2025, we got married at one of our own campsites under a juniper tree, surrounded by loved ones from all across the country.

Giving back, and helping others realize their potential has deeply united us and continues to be a mutual goal. Meeting new people and learning their stories continues to be an inspiration! Today, we’re honored to welcome guests from all over the world to gather, connect, explore, and recharge on this special land.

Thank you for being part of the Bright Star story.
